Pictures from a few years ago...

I was going through some old photo files and found pics from the last time we took the girls to Gatlinburg for a family vacation. As you can tell by this pic, it's been a while! I thought that it was more recent than this photo indicates. It amazes me how quickly they grow up and change.

The reason I was looking back is because Nick and I were talking about possibly taking a quick trip back up to Gatlinburg over the weekend. I was recounting the memory of the last time we went and I thought - well that wasn't too long ago! Boy was I wrong! This pic was taken at the Smokey's stadium right as you turn to go into Gatlinburg outside of Knoxville (I think).

In my mind, time is so distorted. Memories that I keep as recent are not very recent AT ALL! I'm so glad I have my photos to look back on and to be able to actually recount how young my daughters were and how they are growing up to be beautiful young ladies.

Can't wait to go back on a family vacation and to make new memories.

Grace and Peace!

Mollie's Baby Shower

Mollie's baby shower was this Saturday at Alex and Heather's beautiful house. She's getting ready for her sweet baby girl and all of her family and friends came to give them love and gifts to get ready for her arrival. The food was 'licious! Lots of breakfast foods... my favorite was....

the mocha punch made by Mollie's mom Dot. Seriously coffee deliciousness. I love coffee and this punch had coffee, chocolate AND ice cream. COME ON! Dot gave me the recipe... I can't wait to make it.
Her gift from Devin. She's going to be an auntie.
Dot is seriously talented and made her this owl. How cute is this owl? Absolutely adorable.
Mollie's best friend Kaley, her sister Becca and Dot all watching Mollie go through the gifts. I watched Kaley go through the gifts and touch each one and talk about how excited she was about Mollie and Jarrod's baby girl. Mollie's baby will be loved as much as her own.
The stuffed animals again! So cute. Gah! They reminded me of fairy tale animals.
Some more gifts.... there are many many more!
The rings... Jarrod's aunt gave her a little baby ring. The ring on the ribbon is the one given to Jarrod when he was a baby. So sweet.
Lots and lots of laughter. I don't think there's ever been a time I've been around Mollie's family where there wasn't tons of laughter. I love being around them!
Some pregnancy bump pics for Mollie. I know we'll look back at these and wonder where time went!
Radiant and so happy! Every mother should be so relaxed and beautiful!
The hostesses and friends. There were more hostesses but for some reason we didn't get all together for a picture!
The Brewer girls. They are all so beautiful!
Probably my favorite picture.... not probably. It's my favorite.

Mollie and her BFF Kaley. They've been sisters for so long now.... through adolescence, then college, marriage and now family.
Mollie and her mother.
And I got LOTS of pictures of Mollie's neice. She was so intent on watching the camera which was excellent for me. Isn't she precious and lovable?! Taking photos of babies is my all time favorite.

I'm so happy for Mollie and Jarrod. I can't wait to see them start their family.

Grace and Peace!

Bowling can be so much fun

when you're there for a birthday party! We bowled for about 2 hours. Well they bowled while I took pics. We couldn't figure out what we wanted to do for Hannah's birthday... a bowling birthday party or just go to bowl for her birthday. We ended up calling family and asking them to meet us to bowl and it was so much fun. We had a blast and Hannah said she had a WONDERFUL birthday. I just can't believe that she'll be eleven. WOW!

Pics were all taken using my trusty canon p&s. IS800.
First pic is of T-man and his girlfriend Brandi. She is SO unbelievably cute and so nice.
Here's my mom Nancy and Bernard with the birthday girl. Let me tell you - my mom can bowl!!! She used to play with my dad for a bowling league overseas and I know why! I made a mental note not to bowl against my mom.My sister Sabrina and her husband Kerry with the birthday girl!
T-man, Brandi and the birthday girl!
Here's a pic of Stephie and Alex. I need to send her this one - it's a cute pic of them!
And again - Stephie, Alex and the birthday girl.
Mem, Pop and once again.... the birthday girl.
She was happy for this pic. She must have been bowling fairly well. You'll see in a minute... that smile fades to total upset when she found out that she wasn't winning.
T-man arm wrestling Pop. I can't remember who won but H was trying to help. Not sure who she was rooting for.
Ooooo here it is. Not happy AT ALL!
Me and my sister.... she's so beautiful!
Oh the pouting. They look alike don't they?!?!
A cute pic of T-man and Brandi. SO cute together.
Okay that's it for now! I promise I'll blog more often. I just got WAY busy the first part of Feb. But I'm back.... wish I were at WPPI in Vegas but hey, I'll leave that for next year. Something to look forward to!

Grace and Peace Small Group

Happy Monday morning!!! Today is going to be a great day - just claim it! It's going to be fanatastic for me ... just because it's Chinese New Year. It's kinda weird because we have never celebrated it in my family even though my mom is Chinese. It's never been a "thing" for me but this year I want to celebrate... well not completely because we don't have paper dragons to dance with or firecrackers or red envelopes filled with money. Bummer! No envelopes filled with money?!?! I need to ask my mom about that :) I will definitely cook something Chinesey that we haven't had in a while. Hmmm what will it be?!

Just wanted to let the peeps know that read my blog that Grace and Peace small group will be watching Nooma videos for discussion. The first one was really good and brought about some great discussion. We meet on Tuesday nights from 7-8:00. If your interested, give me a shout by email or call my cell. We will not meet on Tuesday Feb. 3rd though because I have a proofing session scheduled that night.

This past Sunday was a wonderful day. Mike brought an awesome message making me think about those days when I was so confused - knowing that God had something big planned for me. I had no idea was it was. I felt I was teetering on a very thin line not wanting to fall in either direction because I did not know what it was that I was falling to. Not knowing what was in store scared me and I was not ready for realizations. But I should have known that whatever God has in His heart for me is good and true. I should embrace the fall. I'm still suspended - not so much by any string or line - but in a place of peace and the motivation to move forward. All the while, He is leading me. So I encourage you to keep an open heart knowing that what God has in store for you is good, pure and uplifting.

Grace and Peace to you!
Jenny

Johnson Wedding

I had the honor of photographing my sister's wedding this past Saturday. It was amazing and beautiful. Both Kerry and Sabrina were smiles all day and their excitement radiated to all their guests. It was a small wedding with family and a few friends. Very intimate. I enjoyed every single minute of this day and just felt pure joy for them.

Alexis, their daughter, was beaming with pride. She was their flower girl and was beautiful! She was so excited that during the ceremony, she waved hello to EVERYONE in attendance and told her mommy twice that she thought her dress was so pretty. Man... it melted my heart. I'm so happy for my sister. I would say I have a new brother but he's been my brother for a LONG time now. They mean the world to me.
I had a few ring shots because I couldn't decide which I liked best.
The cake was made by Publix in Helena. They came and set it up and it was quite beautiful! The women who came to set it up were super sweet. I need to remember to send them a pic of their cake! AND it was delicious. Sabrina asked them to put in a strawberry filling and it was oh so good.
Her bouquet was gorgeous! Tommy from Thomas Flowers in Bessemer created this fabulous bouquet.
Here's my beautiful gorgeous radiant sister. I love you!
And Kerry - Sabrina said this was her fav pic of him.
My brother walked her down the aisle. My daddy would be so proud. I just wish my dad were here to see her get married.
One of my favs.
Someone honked at them while they were waiting for the wedding to begin.
Here she is looking for Alexis. Someone was bringing her to the chapel. I was taking pics of her jewelry. I love this pic for some reason.
Sabrina is watching Alexis go down the aisle from the doorway.
The kiss...
The food at the reception was catered by O'Carrs. The food was not only a feast for your eyes but it was delicious. They set up the buffet line so beautifully.
Kerry and Doug set up lights out on the deck for them. SO we went out to get some romantic pics of them out there. It was FREEZING!
Nick took a few pics as well in the chapel. Here's a few of his.
This is where I almost fell taking off Sabrina's jacket. FOR REAL! I was horrified. I was taking pics, adjusting the seat, and taking off her jacket and it was obviously too much. I almost fell and you can see James cracking up. Thanks brother.Nick's view of the kiss.
Thanks for asking me to take your pics. It was amazing and I'll never forget the day! I had so much fun. God bless your family!

Johnson Wedding Photobooth

Sabrina and Kerry got married on Saturday Jan. 17th! I asked her if she wanted me to set up a photobooth for her wedding and of course her answer was YES! Photobooths are amazing fun - I mean off the hook fun. Just laid back and so much laughter. The booth was set up at her reception.

Here's the bride and groom. Happy smiles all night long. This is a long post so enjoy! There were MANY more pics from this session.

Photobooth destruction!!!! Luckily I brought another roll of seamless paper. The second roll was dull aluminum though so the color in some of the photos change due to the color of the paper. So don't fear!!! We always have a backup ready.
Most of these are sweet! There were some that were SO funny but I can't post them all! All receptions should have a photobooth - I've never laughed so hard. If you're interested in a photobooth setup at your next event, just shoot us an email!
